Polar Bear (ursus maritimus)

A large carnivorous placental mammal, found in northern polar regions - Canada, Russia and so on. The polar bear is the most dangerous kind of bear, usually preying on seals and fish, but quite capable of attacking a human. They can be white, yellow or very light brown. They display considerable intelligence in hunting, and hold an important place in legends of the Inuit peoples. Their livers are poisonous to humans because of excessive concentrations of vitamin A.
