Pride And Prejudice - Jane Austin

Review

Romantic Comedy. Actually, I'd say it's more a serious romance novel with comedy mixed in, pretty much like most of the 'popular classic' novels. This is the most quickly-paced of the ones I have read, however - I felt I'd reached the equivalent point to the second-to-last chapter of most novels by about the twelfth page, and was wondering what would be left in the story to fill the rest of the novel! But the rest of the novel was certainly not lacking. This is gripping throughout and eminently re-readable. Of the four of Jane Austin's novels that I have read, of all of which I have a very high opinion, this is undoubtedly the best. I'd recommend it as an introduction to 'classic' novels, only all subsequently-read novels might be ruined by comparison!
