Tuesday 28th November

Went to London last weekend for Miri's 21st birthday party - 'twas really cool. We had a Spanish meal where you share food with each other, which is a nice concept, and I tasted squid for the first time. Rubbery, and not very nice. Oh well. We went round the Dali exhibition too - think I failed to understand it very well, though - all that came across to me was pain and torment, with some misguided sexuality thrown in. Interesting, nonetheless.

The weekend got me thinking about how we can have different roles in life - as in, mean different things to different people. Which is cool in a way, 'cause it almost allows you to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, and maybe get some insight into their feelings. Also means that life is like a Spanish meal - you may want to stick with your lamb cutlets, but maybe it's time to sample some spicy pork, or even some squid. Different roles are like new situations, which God can use to help us grow. So they're not all bad, even if they can be unpleasant.

Speaking of new situations, it is confirmed that Phil is going to St. Ives, near Cambridge, on January 2nd (I think it's the 2nd!). Hasn't hit me yet, but me surviving without Phil close at hand is an interesting concept - think it's God's will though, so there won't be a problem - it's bound to be handleable. Will try to visit and contact lots, though!

A plan is also in the air for me and Gary to spend a day at Blackpool, helping me deal with that problem I have that stops me going on rollercoasters - we're going to go on a load. Might not happen for a bit, but it's there, anyway - blinkin' nice of Gary to agree to it, too!
