Did Christmas shopping today (some of it!). Was more affected by financial stuff than usual, and it was the first time I'd had to actually pick presents for family members, so it was quite different to normal! Fortunately my mum kindly made many suggestions, and went round buying stuff with me...

Spent most of the rest of today looking into animation possibilities - we didn't use any videos at Impact last week, and I think it's a shame to have such capabilities (with the large-screen projector) and not use them. So I'm souping up my computer more than I originally intended, and am trying to come up with some animations as a fallback option for future Impacts.

Am quite excited about Christmas, 'cause I've pre-ordered the new computer bits so I'll actually get them on Christmas day (most of them are already here). And it's pretty much like getting a new computer, 'cause the case is different (black, for one thing) and the new components are considerably more advanced! Hurrah! Not sure which bits are presents and which bits I've paid for myself, but the whole thing will be left 'til Christmas anyway - cue 6:00 am getting-up time!

But I'll still be at church Christmas morning, 'cause God's even better (and even more important) than new black computers!

Back to Impact for a moment: have found that Screen Giant gives better quality text at higher resolutions, and I'm now wondering if the extra quality would also be passed on to the big screen. What's the maximum resolution of the projector? Anyway, to get a high resolution and test it / use it for Impact, I'll have to take my new 17 inch monitor - scary thought, considering my 15 inch monitor has a cracked casing after I dropped it at another Impact! Okay, so I'm careless, but it is a risk that I really don't want my beautiful 17 inch monitor subjected to. But I will, if it means better graphics and things at Impact - just hope everyone reading this is understanding when my paranoia levels about transporting my stuff (already extreme) go higher than a pulsar's escape velocity....
