Gratitude

As I was walking through a field I met a cow.
'Hello cow,' I said, 'Do you love your Creator?'
'Who is my Creator?' replied the cow.
'He who gave you all that you have.'
'Yes,' said the cow, 'I do, because here I have everything I need:
grass to eat, dew to drink, protection and care. I am happy here
in the sunny field.

I moved on to the forest, where I met a tree.
'Hello tree,' I said, 'Do you love your Creator?'
'Who is my Creator?' replied the tree.
'He who gave you all that you have.'
'Yes,' said the tree, 'I do, because here I have everything I need:
food and water in the soil, sunlight on my leaves, peace and
freedom from violence. I am happy here in the cool forest.'

Not long afterwards I came to a lake, where I met a fish.
'Hello fish,' I said, 'Do you love your Creator?'
'Who is my Creator?' replied the fish.
'He who gave you all that you have.'
'Yes,' said the fish, 'I do, because here I have everything I need:
food, warmth, freedom to go anywhere in the lake and the
beauty of my world. I am happy here in the beautiful lake.'

Then I arrived at a town, where I met a man.
'Hello man,' I said, 'Do you love your Creator?'
'Who is my Creator?' replied the man.
'He who gave you all that you have.'
'No,' said the man, 'I don't, because I don't have everything I want:
an expensive car, lots of money, a good singing voice or good looks.
I am unhappy here in the town.'

Happy people count their blessings.
Unhappy people count others' blessings.
