Mouse

Another four-legged furry thing, like a dog. Only they don't bark. And they do smell, only not as much. Because of their small size, mice have a high surface area to volume ratio and so lose heat very quickly - this, combined with their warm-bloodedness means, basically, that they spend an awful lot of time eating. And pooing.

My house was infested with mice once - we used to find poo in the cereal cupboard. And one day I put on my pyjama top and a dead mouse fell out. (I was young, and didn't wash very often).

My friend Cat has a mouse called Marvin. Despite being female. She was going to call her Kinky, because she had a kink in her tail, only it unkinked itself. So Marvin it is...

The name 'mouse' is also given to the computer-controlling devices, because they look like mice, assuming the mouse in question has a metre-long tail that some callous person has jammed into the back of a computer, and is totally blind and has buttons on its bum.

Weird.

For both uses of the word mouse, the correct plural is 'mice'.
